I love this character of Russian folklore.
Gamayun is a prophetic bird with a woman’s head. She lives on an island in the east, close to para-dise, where sunrise. The some people hope, if to catch her, she’ll execute any desire or will predict the future. But, it is dangerous. When Gamayun soar, after her from the east come a homicidal storm. She sings and cries on tombs of dead warriors. |
